Instructor, Dr. Changning Wang, funded to study HDAC expression in human HD patients

The Huntington's Disease Society of America recently selected Dr. Changning Wang, an Instructor in the Hooker lab at MGH, as a recipient of this year's HDSA HD Human Biology Fellowship. The Scientific Advisory Board of the Foundation stated that Dr. Wang's plan to explore the expression of Histone Deacetylases in the brains of Huntington's Disease patients was "exactly what we had in mind when the Human Biology Project was launched in 2013." ThisĀ patient-centric research strategy will employ Dr. Wang's recently approved HDAC-targeted PET imaging agent, [11C]Martinostat, and help us to understand the role these epigenetic enzymes might play in disease. Congratulations Dr. Wang! We can't wait to see your results!
